In day five of THY Euroleague 2011-12 season Top 16 Group E game Anadolu Efes will face Galatasaray on 22 February Wednesday. The game at Abdi İpekçi Arena will start at 20.30 and will be broadcast live on NTV Spor.
Anadolu Efes will play the 450th game in European Arena and Efes has had 266 victories and 183 losses in 449 games so far European Cups (winning percentage : 59%).
Efes has been participating in ULEB Euroleague since 2001-02 202 and this will be the 201st game of Efes in this cup. Efes had 109 victories and 92 losses in this cup so far (winning percentage : 54%) .
Anadolu Efes and Galatasaray will face each other for the second time in European Cups ; Efes won the game one of this season in Top 16 by 68-62 .
In day four game of THY Euroleague Top 16 Group E Anadolu Efes lost to Olympiacos by 67-65 and ranks the fourth in the group , while Galatasaray defeated CSKA Moscow by 68-64, ranking the third.
Anadolu Efes has to defeat Galatasaray to have the chance to qualify to the quarter final in the final week.
Anadolu Efes’ General Manager Engin Özerhun stated that they would play an important game to continue the hopes to qualify to the quarter final, saying : “This will be a life or dead game against Galatasaray. If we win this game, we will still have the hope to qualify to the quarter final in the final week. We want to win all the remaining games...”
