In quarter final of Spor Toto Turkish Cup which started today (14 February Tuesday) in Konya Anadolu Efes defeated Fenerbahçe by 82-69. Anadolu Efes was also leading at halftime at Selçuklu Municipality Sport Hall by 39-38.
Following this game, Anadolu Efes qualified to the semi-final; Efes will face Banvit in the semi-final. Anadolu Efes - Banvit game will start at 18.00 on 16 February Thursday at Selçuklu Municipality Sport Hall.

The starting five of Efes were Lafayette, Sinan, Cenk, Savanovic and Batista and following the points Batista and Savanovic scored in the first two minutes, Efes was leading by 8-2. Lafayette and Sinan added a triple apiece and Fenerbahçe had to call the first timeout: 14-5. Following the timeout, Batista and Cenk tallied triples and in minute five the difference rose to 10 points: 17-7. Following the three-pointers scored by Savanovic and Kinsey, Efes was leading in the last minute of the quarter by 23-11 and within 60 seconds Barac scored one more point in a free throw and Efes ended the first quarter as the leading side by 24-14.
Barac scored the first points for Efes in the second period; following Savanovic’s mid-distance field goal in minute 12, the score was 28-20. In 13.30, when the score was 28-26, the coach Ufuk Sarıca called a timeout. Following the timeout Batista joined the game and scored the 30th point for Efes and Sinan’s triple in minute 15, the score was 33-30. Efes took the difference to five points following Batista’s elegant slam dunk and Lafayette joined the game. In the last 2.30 minutes of the first half following the points Batista scored, Efes was leading by 37-32 and Savanovic scored a two-pointer, Efes was leading at halftime by 39-38.

Efes started the second half with three points Batista scored, a two pointer and a point in a free throw in the first offense and in minute 21, the score was 42-40. Lafayette snatched the defensive rebound in the offense of the opponent, and received an unsportsmanlike foul; the American player scored two points in free throws and Batista started the game on the line, and scored two more points under the rim and in minute 23, the score was 46-42. In minute 24.40, Lafayette took the score to 49-42 and the opponent had to call a timeout; following the timeout, Lafayette scored two more points, rising the gap to nine points: 51-42. In minute 26.30, the score was equal at 52-52 and Batista and Sinan scored four points in the last minute of the quarter and Efes was leading by 56-54. In the remaining time, Kerem added a triple and following Sinan’s layup, Anadolu Efes finished the third quarter in the leading position by 61-55.
Efes started the final period with Batista’s points and in minute 31, Efes took the gap to nine points: 64-55. Sinan scored two triples consecutively and the score was 70-58. Following Lafayette’s three-pointer and Savanovic’s mid-distance field goal, Efes took the gap in minute 36 to 15 points: 75-60. Following the timeout called by the opponent, Savanovic took the score to 77-62 and in the final seconds of the game Lafayette and Batista scored for Efes and Anadolu Efes won the game by 82-69 and qualified to the semi-final.
Esteban Batista had 25 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 3 blocks in the game and was selected “the Most Valuable Player”.
