Anadolu Efes: 65 - Olympiacos: 83

In day three away game of Turkish Airlines Euroleague Top 16 Group E, Anadolu Efes lost to the Greek Olympiacos by 83-65. Anadolu Efes was also on the losing side at halftime in Peace and Friendship Arena by 41-36.

The starting five of Kerem, Vujacic, Kinsey, Savanovic and Barac and Barac and Vujacic scored for the first points for Anadolu Efes. In minute five before the television timeout, Efes was on the losing side by 12-4, and following the timeout, Kerem took the score to 6-17. In the last two minutes of the quarter, with points scored by Lafayette and Savanovic, the score was 10-17, and with a two-pointer by Sinan in the last second, Efes ended the first period on the losing side by 20-12.

Following the timeout, after a foul, Barac scored two points in free throws: 22-32. Lafayette-Vujacic and Batsita scored eight points and Anadolu Efes dropped the difference to six points, and this time Olympiacos called a timeout: 30-36. Following the timeout Batista scored one more two-pointer under the board; Vujacic sealed the score of the first half: 36-41.

In the second half, Kerem dropped the difference to three points in the first offense: 38-41. With points scored by Batista and Kinsey, Efes took the score to 43-46, in minute 24, Vujacic took the score to 45-51. Batista scored one more two-pointer, dropping the difference to four points: 47-51. In the last 2.30 minutes of the period, Efes was on the losing side by 53-47 and Kinsey dropped the difference to four points once again: 49-53. In the last 46 seconds of the quarter, Barac scored three points following a foul, and dropped the difference to one point: 52-53. Olympiacos could not score in 24 seconds, Efes has the opportunity to have the last offense of the period, and after a foul, Lafayette scored one point in a free throw, equalising the score –for the first time after the score 4-4 in minute two of the game - at: 53-53.

The opponent had a 8-0 series in the first two minutes of the final period, and the score was 61-53 and the coach Sarıca called a timeout. Followign the timeout, the opponent scored a triple and Barac scored three points after a foul and in minute 33 the score was 56-64. In the last 3.45 minutes of the game, the score was 58-74 and in the remaining time, Efes could not close the gap and Anadolu Efes lost the game by 83-65.
